Adding Roadside Assistance to your Car Insurance Package

By A Nutt

Roadside Assistance is great way to provide security for you and your family. You never know when you may blow out a tire or your battery will go dead. Many people are now adding roadside assistance coverage to their car insurance packages.

There are a number of benefits to adding roadside assistance to a Ontario insurance policy. The following list contains the advantages of adding roadside assistance to your insurance package:

Value: Many insurance companies will offer lower premiums if you add roadside assistance to your insurance policy. One emergency response could result in the coverage paying for itself. For instance, the cost of one tow can be much more expensive than the insurance premium. It is better to pay a little extra each month instead of hundreds of dollars all at once.

Roadside Assistance Contact: If you have a problem with your vehicle, contacting a technician is as easy as pulling out a card and dialing. You don't have to call directory information or search through the yellow pages. Response is usually quick.

Towing Service: If your car breaks down on the side of the road, roadside assistance will cover your towing costs. It will also cover the costs of towing your car to a qualified and certified mechanic shop.

Flat Tire: If you have a flat tire, a service technician will come out, remove the tire, and install the spare Lost or Stolen Keys: If you lose or have your keys stolen, or locked them in the car, a professional will come out and help recover them or provide you with a new set of keys.

Battery Boost: A battery that goes dead is a very common occurrence. This could be due to the cold or leaving the lights on. If your battery dies, someone will be sent out to jump it for you. Emergency Fuel and Fluid Delivery: If you your gas tank is empty or you require another type of vehicle fluid, a technician will bring a replacement to you. In most cases the delivery service is free with the roadside assistance package. You may have to pay for the cost of the fluid.

Medical and Trauma Assistance: If you are in a serious car accent, having roadside assistance with an insurance package can provide coverage for such services as towing to the nearest approved vehicle yard after an accident, road or air ambulance service, care for stranded children, transfer to the most appropriate medical facility, lifesaving medication or blood transfer, and trauma support.

Different items or events are covered under roadside assistance. Conditions may apply in certain emergency assistant situations. When searching for the appropriate roadside package to go with your car insurance policy, you should find out such information as the maximum financial benefits you can receive each year, the financial limitations, the costs not covered in the policy, and the number of times you can request assistance.

Roadside assistance helps drivers through the worst situations. Even if you know how to change a flat tire, there are many unexpected events that can occur. If you spend much time traveling alone and over long distances, you should have roadside assistance with your car insurance. Check your car insurance policy to see if you qualify. Before choosing a plan, make sure you know how much roadside assistance you will need and confirm that the plan will meet your needs. If you have a car problem, you will be happy and relieved knowing that you added roadside assistance. Your family will rest easy knowing that you are in safe hands.

Towing Services and Roadside Assistance

By A Nutt

Roadside assistance is a great thing to have for the fact that it can get you out of a bind when you are traveling. There is nothing more frightening when on the road than breaking down and not having anyone to help you. There are too many instances in which an individual may be traveling and they break down too far away from anyone they know. What happens is they then have to call a towing service to help them and that towing service will charge a lot of money to tow them to a hotel or another destination.

Sure, it is great that towing is available if you need it, but the cost can be so incredibly high. If youre traveling with a limited amount of money, you may find yourself sleeping in your car somewhere because you have to pay the towing fee and you cant afford a hotel. You would be amazed how many people this happens to. Whats said is that this doesnt have to happen at all.

Roadside assistance

If you tend to travel or you are going to be traveling sometime soon, it is important that you look into a good roadside assistance package with towing services. You pay one low fee each month for your roadside assistance. It usually consists of different services, such as tire assistance, battery assistance, lockout service, and someone will bring you gas if you run out of gas. But the towing service can be the best of them all for the fact that there isnt always a fix right there on the side of the road. The car needs to be taken somewhere if it will not run at all.

Instead of you having to call a tow truck and pay them every dime in your pocket, you can call your auto club and tell them what is going on. What they will do is contact a local tow service for you and two you for a certain distance. You have to take a look at your roadside assistance plan to know how far they will tow you. Many of them will tow you up to 50 miles and what is great is you dont have to pay them when they are done. Your roadside assistance service takes care of that for you because youve been paying them monthly anyway. Youve more or less already covered the cost through your membership fee, so you have nothing to worry about when youre on the road.

Should you get it?

If youre still wondering if you should get roadside assistance, you have to ask yourself how you would handle being stranded in a strange place. If you have a wireless phone, you could call information for a towing service, but then you would be stuck with the cost. That is where you ask yourself if you could handle the cost of towing if you had to. You dont want to be one of those individuals who pay large amounts of money to be towed to a hotel lot or a supermarket parking lot so that you can sleep in your car and seek out help the next day. That is simply unacceptable, especially if you dont have to put yourself through that.

So if you dont have a roadside assistance package that includes towing, you need to get one. It is good to be safe than sorry when you are out and about on the road. When it is all said and done, that will be a move that you were glad you made. It is worth the monthly cost to not be stuck somewhere.

Belonging to an auto club could attract a discount with a good number of insurance companies. Don't allow the smallness of the discount this may get you stop you from taking advantage of it if it makes sense in your situation.

Do your best to represent the facts exactly the way they are. One of the factors that has kept rates as high as they are is insurance fraud. It's making everyone pay a lot more.

If you couldn't care less about the cost to everyone in general, don't forget that your insurer is free to cancel your policy on the grounds of false representation.

This could make you lose a lot more than what you thought you would save. Your rates are raised by a big margin by your new insurer once your auto insurance policy lapses.

Policyholders who do NOT make claims for up more than 3 years get a No Claims bonus. Those who understand how to take advantage of this often handle very minor repairs and fixes and so easily become eligible for this discount. Handling little fixes on your own will help you save more as you'll get a big discount.

Another alternative for you is to use your parents' car insurance policy. Your parents certainly belong to a better risk age group.

To take advantage of this though, you'll have to live with your parents and also have the vehicle registered in their name. This means that by law they own the vehicle. If the benefits of "independence" outweigh your auto insurance savings then this is certainly not an option for you.

And...

What is Pay as You Drive Insurance

By Tom Martens

Pay As You Drive insurance rates are based on the number of miles you drive. Simply put, the less you drive, the less you pay for auto insurance. Pay As You Drive ties the vehicle owner?s insurance premiums to how much the driver uses the vehicle. The premiums can be specifically tailored to meet a driver?s needs.

Pay As You Drive insurance premiums can be in determined in several ways: within a specific range of miles, by number of miles actually driven in a given time period, or by the number of hours driven in a given time period. Premiums for Pay As You Drive insurance can also be based on just the mileage without a fixed time period.

Since mileage determines the cost of the premiums for Pay As You Drive insurance, this requires that a vehicle?s mileage be monitored. This requires only periodic mileage readings and can be done with certified odometer readings, GPS based monitors, or an upload of the vehicle?s computer data.

Mileage monitoring causes concern in some potential Pay As You Drive customers. Not without reason, some customers worry that the devices used to track distance or time used could also be used to track where the insured motorist drives, violating privacy. However, Pay As You Drive only uses the numbers of miles or hours driven and nothing else. Privacy is simply not an issue with this new form of insurance.

You can benefit several different ways by switching to Pay As You Drive coverage. Your insurance premiums will be based just on your miles driven, not on your age, gender, or where you live. Pay As You Drive gives you a real incentive to drive less. And when you drive fewer miles, not only do you pay less for your insurance, you save on gas and maintenance and the wear and tear on your car. Pay As You Drive plans are good for the environment, because fewer miles driven means less greenhouse gas emissions, and less congestion on the road.

And Pay As You Drive restores fairness to the insurance system. With Pay As You Drive, low-mileage drivers don't have to subsidize high-mileage drivers. Under traditional insurance schemes, drivers pay the same premiums whether they drive 200 miles a year or 200,000. Pay As You Drive is an equitable, fairer way of computing your insurance costs. You only have to pay for what you use in the Pay As You Drive system.

According to a report from the Brookings Institution, two-thirds of U.S. households would save an average of $270 a year on auto insurance under a Pay As You Drive insurance system.

If you are interested in learning more about Pay As You Drive insurance, or to see if it is available in your area, contact a qualified insurance provider. He or she can help you tailor a Pay As You Drive insurance program to fit your specific needs.

Automotive Insurance For Female

By Vincent Harper

The safer you drive, the lower the premium you have to pay for your insurance. This is at the core of the business of insurance. And it's all about the calculation of risks, and for the insurance company the one that is not too safe on and off the road is a high risk investment for the company. And for this reason, they charge a higher premium.

Since women tend to be cautious drivers, this means they do not expose insurance companies to a lot of financial risks. Auto insurance providers are one in saying that women are considered to be safer drivers compared to the other drivers out there on the road. Because of this, women often find themselves with favorable rates.

Surveys also show that 98 percent of the convictions against dangerous driving are linked to men, and only 2 percent are linked to women. This is the main reason why the female segment is considered as an important segment for many car insurance companies. And if you are in search of your insurance, then it is suggested that you take advantage of this situation.

Since there are a number of providers who want to cash-in on the market, you need to take a closer look at what they offer and the deals that they promote. Being a female shopper doesn't mean that you can easily get those discounts. Think of your gender as just one of the strong considerations that can pull the cost of premiums down.

Other things to consider to get lower rates for a automotive insurance quote include your age, the type of service vehicle and the presence of security devices. Even your limited travels for last year can have a say on how cheap the premiums can get.

Discount Auto Insurance - Is It Worth The Risk

By Joseph Welusz

Today's household budgets are strained by many factors. Rising costs for food, clothing and gasoline cause the household budget to appear to shrink as each day goes past. The consumer is constantly looking for fresh methods to stretch their budget without going without necessities. One attractive area to save money in the annual household budget appears to be insurance costs. Advertisements on television make the availability of discount auto insurance a method of saving. The question is, is discount auto insurance obtained on line worth the monetary savings?

One of the biggest questions that is involved in purchasing insurance is whether or not full coverage is required. If a vehicle is leased or has a lien on it, the lien holder will require full coverage to be maintained on the vehicle. This guarantees the lien holder that they will not suffer a loss if the vehicle is involved in an accident. If the consumer owns their vehicle free and clear, this question is problematic. Liability insurance, which is required by most states, guarantees that should the vehicle be involved in an accident any damage caused by the vehicle is paid for up to the limit of the policy. Collision insurance, which is not required, protects your vehicle when it is damaged by another vehicle. As with collision insurance, comprehensive insurance is not required but protects the vehicle from fire and theft. There are multiple other options available to the insurance purchaser and the purchaser must determine which options fit their needs in the most effective manner.

Prior to the availability of the Internet, auto insurance was purchased either from an agent or a broker. One particular company employed insurance agents while brokers represented several different companies. The agents and brokers were paid a commission for both the policies that they wrote and renewed. In theory, the insurance professionals could develop a relationship with the consumer and determine exactly what the needs were of each individual person.

If a customer was dissatisfied with either their coverage or their broker, a long and involved process needed to be undertaken to make a change. Multiple telephone calls with repetitive questions and answers needed to be made to various insurance agents. This process was both time consuming and in many cases caused frustration for the consumer. It was often difficult for the consumer to compare the coverage offered by the different companies.

The Internet provided insurance companies a vast opportunity. This opportunity was to be able to offer discount auto insurance to a larger market. This larger market provided a broader base for the insurance companies to spread the risk factor over. Additionally, in addition to spreading out the risk factor, the insurance companies, by offering coverage directly to the consumer could eliminate the need to pay commissions to agents or brokers. These two factors allowed the insurance companies to offer discount auto insurance to the general populace.

All auto insurance policies are not created equally. Many policies while appearing to offer comparable coverage may in fact have exclusions written into them. It is up to the consumer to, when purchasing discount auto insurance, on line carefully evaluate the policies and check for any exclusions in the policies. This can be a difficult task for the consumer who is not well versed in auto insurance.

There are several factors that the consumer should be aware of when purchasing discount automobile insurance on line. The first and foremost is that a nationally recognized company should provide the insurance. A nationally recognized company may provide a higher quote than ABC Insurance, however the nationally recognized company may in fact provide better coverage than ABC Insurance. The coverage offered not only includes the policy but the customer service that the insurance company offers. Many small discount insurance providers have minimal customer service facilities. Claims are often handled by an extensive exchange of telephone calls, letters and or e-mail. In today's mobile society a person who lives in Georgia may have difficulty in making a claim in North Dakota when that person was there on vacation and was involved in an accident.

In today's market, prices of all goods and services seem to be rising while income appears to fail to keep up with the rising prices. When household budgets are analyzed, the one area that appears to offer the best opportunity to save money is auto insurance. Prior to purchasing discount auto insurance, the consumer must carefully analyze all of the policies offered. While on the surface they all may appear to provide the same coverage while in reality the fine print at the bottom of the policy may have significant exclusions. Prior to purchasing any discount auto insurance the consumer should carefully evaluate the company offering the insurance. This evaluation can be done through the Better Business Bureau to determine the performance of the particular company. If any doubts exist about the coverage offered, perhaps a local insurance agent or broker should be consulted. In many cases, the local agent or broker can provide discounted rates that are competitive with the discount auto insurance available on line. This comparison allows the consumer to be assured that the discount auto insurance that they are purchasing fits their particular needs.
